There's a new face in Nashville, some may have seen her around, or you may have heard of the name.
She has appeared sometimes unannounced, at various local venues, although she usually does have an invitation.
Apon meeting her I asked Smoochy Mctwain how this all came about. And she gives us her first true account
"Back on July fourth of last year, I was preparing to supprise my husband with a Bluegrass song I'd written (called "He is mine")this was to celebrate our 10th wedding aniversary.
There were 40 or so people waiting to hear something. I don't think anyone was prepared when Smoochy Mctwain walked in. I had grabbed a few peices together, a wig, some high boots, a tacky gold dress and a straw cowboy hat.
I often think that maybe it all started at the local fish fry I had just attended. Then again there were some fireworks that night, I suppose somewhere in between, Smoochy Mctwain had been born."
So you mean that your character Smoochy Mctwain was a last minute idea, and something you hardly planned
"Yes that is exactly right. If I was going to plan this, I proberly would have chosen something a little more flattering, maybe."
Apparently the night was quite a success, and it is because of this that you have continued the character of Smoochy Mctwain.
"Yes that is very true. I was relluctant actually at first. I was persuaded to continue by some close friends."
Well we are glad to see that you have been quite busy since July. Have you been writing many songs lately?
"I write about every couple of weeks, usually with my good friend Mrs Pearl, I like to throw my crazy idea's her way, and she is quite good at keeping me on track".
We can't wait to hear some of them. Are you working on a CD yet?
"Actually yes, this year will be quite busy for us, I have about 20 or so songs....and a great team of musicians working with me on them."
Thanks for your time, we will keep in touch,
Till then we wish you well.
